I believe that the maker, the craftsman, the artist imbibes the object with their style, their art, their enthusiasm and goodwill. It’s what gives the object life, it’s an offering of care and attention. I offer you this with each piece I create.

The Idea

Sometimes I start by drawing and other times I”m inspired by materials. I’m very tactile, and when I begin to create I often change my original design in favor of the material’s desire. From the drawing I make a first prototype, then I refine the pattern and create a first sample. From there, I will again refine the pattern and perhaps the structure for the second sample. After that, I create my patterns for the model and create the finished articles.

“In search of simple luxury….A la recherche du luxe simple…”

It’s the feeling you get after a Sunday lunch in the Spring when you shake your tablecloth outside for the birds to enjoy the crumbs. When you hang your linens on a line “Al Fresco” having planted your favorite scented flowers just beneath, so you fall asleep with the smell of your favorite bouquet mixed with fresh air from your pillowcase. To me these are truly luxuries, simple and pure. It’s the opposite of consumerism and fast fashion. It’s not about exploitation or showing off a label, it’s a true pleasure and appreciation for quality, durability and style. It’s the way I aspire to live, and I make bags and accessories for other like minded and stylish individuals.
